Celebrating a Brandyburn Success Story – Amber’s Journey
We’re delighted to share some truly special news.
One of our homes, Brandyburn, recently received a heartfelt letter from a former young person, Amber, who has now successfully transitioned to independent living. With Amber’s kind permission, we are proud to share her words, which beautifully reflect the lasting impact our teams make each and every day.
Amber was a much-loved member of the Brandyburn family for more than seven years and flourished throughout her time there. She went on to gain multiple qualifications and secure a fantastic role as a Senior Nursery Worker. As she prepared for this next chapter, the Brandyburn team worked closely with our Estates colleagues to transform her bedroom into a semi-independent living space, helping her build the skills and confidence needed for greater independence.
Even in a short time at Spark, Amber’s determination and ambition stood out. She balanced work with travelling abroad to spend time with family and invested in nurturing strong, meaningful relationships. Her journey is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do across Spark of Genius and CareTech.
Our residential and education teams are often immersed in the day-to-day, rarely pausing to see the full,
life-changing impact of their work, but Amber’s words are a powerful testament to the difference they make.
Brandyburn’s Residential Manager, Gordon Vallely, and the team have proudly framed Amber’s letter within the home. It is, however, far too special not to celebrate more widely. Not every organisation can truly say it changes lives - this is a success story worth sharing.
