Environment & Facilities
Caledonian Campus provides a welcoming and supportive environment designed around the individual needs of our pupils.
Set within the grounds of the historic Glengarnock Steel Works, our campus combines dedicated learning spaces with specialist facilities, outdoor areas and opportunities for practical learning, creativity, physical activity and wellbeing.
Primary School
Our Primary School is housed in a single-storey building designed to create a welcoming and nurturing space for younger pupils.
The building includes two main teaching classrooms and four quieter breakout areas, providing a variety of spaces for learning and development. Pupils also have access to a dedicated Lego and Relax Kids room, a music room and specialist learning areas.
A larger kitchen within one of our extended buildings provides opportunities for pupils to develop practical skills for life, while our expansive outdoor spaces support physical activity, outdoor learning and rural skills.
Secondary School
The Caledonian Secondary School is spread across two storeys, offering spacious, well-lit classrooms and additional breakout areas for group work and independent learning.
The school includes specialist Nurture Teams that support pupils' emotional and social development. Dedicated areas for the Broad General Education and Senior Phase ensure that pupils receive appropriate support as they progress through their education and prepare for their future pathways.
Skills for Work Building
Our dedicated Skills for Work Building provides pupils with opportunities to develop practical and vocational skills alongside their academic learning.
The building includes a fully equipped Mechanics Bay with professional tools and equipment, including:

Tyre changers
The workshop and machine room are also used for construction skills courses, giving pupils opportunities to explore trades including bricklaying, painting and decorating, joinery, carpentry and plumbing.
Caledonian Sports Centre
The Caledonian Sports Centre provides a dedicated indoor space for physical education, recreation and wellbeing.

The Sports Centre also includes a practical cooking kitchen with four workstations, where pupils can develop home cooking and independent living skills.
Alongside physical activities, pupils can take part in DJ and sound production courses, providing opportunities to explore their musical interests and creativity.
Music & Creative Spaces
Our Music Room provides a creative environment where pupils can develop their musical abilities using instruments including guitars, pianos and drums.
The campus also provides a range of creative and specialist learning spaces, enabling pupils to explore their interests, develop new skills and express themselves in different ways.
Wellbeing & Regulation Spaces
We recognise the importance of providing pupils with spaces where they can feel calm, safe and supported.
Our Lego and Relax Kids spaces provide opportunities for pupils to regulate their emotions, develop social skills and take part in calming and creative activities.
Our approach to wellbeing is supported by trained staff and includes nurture, trauma-informed practice, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Relax Kids strategies.
